Somewhere I read an article titled 'Cricket teaches us all about life'. After giving a thought on that I realized yes it does, It may look like a pretty simply game with lots of weird rules but It certainly holds all those vital aspects that are needed to be taken care of for playing a good innings of life, This blog-post I dedicate to my cricketing passion, that's been there with me more for than anything else. I try to translate real life happenings in cricketing term, let’s see how relevant it turns out to be.
Well, getting the experiences of playing in different grounds, different conditions, against different opponents and with different team mates. I have reached to a point where I prefer playing single wicket instead of a team game and having partners to rely on, which in turn becomes very critical at some situations. Playing single wicket reduces the chances of getting out by far, at least you wont get out for the mistakes of your partner, unnecessary building pressure and risky calls many a times lead you to the pavilion. While playing in team, many times dispute causes individual games which may cause sightless playing without any target. Playing single wicket is the best way of scoring runs, just rely on your own abilities and play through the defence system of the opponent.
Playing safe is okay but taking calculated risk is also very important, At times It becomes necessary to take the aerial-route and score some quick runs, Don’t let the bowlers think of our weaknesses, taking calculated risk is a skill in any game and very decisive to make your final score to pump up. Still while taking risk beware of getting Hit wicket or Stumped, Some times while playing inside the crease we tend to come too close to the stump and eventually hit our own stump and get out. Don’t go too far of your crease though that in turn makes it difficult to get back in time hence we could be stumped.
Playing single wicket looks appealing and appropriate at any level, just keep all the rules in mind and play a long innings, always keep the spirit of the game alive and entertain the crowd…
